Tuition Shouldn’t Be an Obstacle for Anyone Who Wants Quality Career Training

At Focus College, we do more than prepare you well for your future career or your transition to our partner university. We are here to support you through every stage in your academic journey and do everything we can to help you find a way to finance your training.
In addition to the scholarships (50% saving on second year) we offer to some students (up to 75% off tuition for eligible students) and the Focus College payment plan (fill out the form for more info about that), you will also find a variety of potential funding sources to cover your tax-deductible tuition.
Remember these 2 great things about the training programs at Focus College:
- You can be finished your training and ready to begin full- or part-time work in as little as 12 months
- Many of our graduates find employment shortly after completing their training, so you should quickly be able to begin paying off any loans you get

Scholarships
Some people deserve a special kind of support. If you are in financial need, have a strong academic record, and have been involved in your community, we offer a few scholarships that you might qualify for. Remember: It never hurts to try.
Eligible students can see their tuition fees reduced by up to 50% when registering for their second year!
All scholarship recipients are determined based on the following three criteria:
- Financial need
- Academic achievement
- Social/community involvement
Talk with one of our Admission Representatives to discuss your scholarship opportunities.
Canada and Provincial Student Loans
Focus College is approved by the PTIB as a Designated Educational Institution, so Canadian students may be eligible to receive student loans. If you require financial aid for your training please click on any of the following links to find out more about:
BC Student Loans
Currently, British Columbia has a government-sponsored plan that provides loan assistance to qualified full-time students. The type and amount of assistance usually varies depending on your individual circumstances.
If you choose to fund your education through student loans, it is Focus College policy to apply all loan payments toward the tuition balance until the tuition and other costs are paid in full. This policy is subject to provincial regulation. Loan amounts that exceed tuition fees will be distributed directly to the student.
Government student loans have no interest and no payments while in school. See StudentAidBC for more information.
Student Financial Assistance Estimator
Use CanLearn’s Student Financial Assistance Estimator. This tool can estimate the amount of student loan you could potentially receive from the Canada Student Loans Program. Find out if you qualify for Employment Insurance retraining through Employment and Social Development Canada.
Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)
The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) is a program that allows Canadian students to withdraw funds from their RRSPs (Registered Retirement Savings Plan), without penalty, to fund their education. LLP allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 per year, up to a maximum of $20,000, without being taxed. You have up to 10 years to pay back your withdrawal. You are required to have an acceptance letter from Focus College to withdraw funds from your LLP.
Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
If you have a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP), it’s a great vehicle to support your education funding. An RESP is tax-deferred savings and can be paid over 10 years interest fee. Parents can take advantage of this financial opportunity to set up an educational account for their children’s future.
Student Line of Credit
A student line of credit is a great option for Canadian students with a valid co-signer. A line of credit is different from a loan because you take money out only as you need it and pay interest only on what you withdraw while you are in school.
Focus College Payment Plan
To set up a personal payment plan option where you are covering your own tuition, please contact us directly to check your qualifications. Our admissions representatives can help inform you.
Employment Program of BC / Employment Insurance
Focus College programs qualify for EPBC and EI funding; however, each case is different. Contact us for more information.
