BC Student Loans

British Columbia offers a government-sponsored loan program for qualified full-time students. Loan amounts vary based on your personal financial circumstances.

At Focus College:

  • All loan payments are first applied to tuition and fees, as required by BC regulations.
  • Any excess loan funds are released directly to you.
  • No interest or payments are required while you are enrolled full-time.

Additional Funding Options

Student Financial Assistance Estimator

Use the Financial Assistance Estimator to calculate the amount of student loan funding you may qualify for through the Canada Student Loans Program. You may also be eligible for Employment Insurance retraining support through Employment and Social Development Canada.

Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)

Withdraw from your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) to pay for education without penalty.

  • Up to $10,000 per year (maximum $20,000).
  • Repay within 10 years.
  • Requires a valid Focus College acceptance letter.

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

RESP savings can be used to cover tuition and related education expenses.

  • Tax-deferred savings growth.
  • Payments can be spread over 10 years interest-free.
